Laptop batteries
Laptop computer batteries are simply essential in this technologically advanced and fast paced world, even with the transition to mobile there is still no substitute to a laptop or notebook computer for working on the move. But these batteries have a tendency not to last enough and also their life span is limited to about 2-3 years.
Number of cells
All laptop batteries are categorized into the number of cells they have – Meaning energy cells. Most standard laptop batteries are 6 celled, smaller Net-books (10’) use 4 cells and some heavy-duty business laptops use 9 cells. The more cells a battery has, the longer the computer can operate unplugged.
Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries
Nowadays, most laptop batteries use Lithium-ion technology. This type of battery can give much more power than previous technologies, but also has a shorter life span – number of recharges. In the future we will see Fuel Cell technology in mobile devices.
